The fit-out for Arvida Te Puna Wairoa was more than a joinery contract; it was a feat of engineering and coordination. Encompassing the main bar, games room, library, and hobby room, this project required us to bridge the gap between architectural vision and manufacturing reality. The result is widely considered the showpiece of the Arvida portfolio, a status achieved through the distinct synergy of our team.

Collaborative Design & Coordination Grounding the space beneath the gantry are the beautiful bar pillar structures, which were the result of a design collaboration between John England and Hazel. Their combined vision ensured these elements acted as the perfect aesthetic anchor for the room.
While the design was being finalized, Hazel also mastered the physical reality of the build. Managing a high-pressure site with an array of premium materials—from high-gloss tiling and polished stone to timber and steel—she coordinated the logistics, tradespeople, and material flows. Her management ensured that the challenging mix of textures and finishes came together seamlessly under the vaulted ceilings of the main atrium.
From the floor-to-ceiling oak library shelving to the atmospheric lighting integration in the bar, this project stands as a testament to what happens when meticulous planning meets expert project management.
Precision Engineering & The Floating Gantry Mark led the technical execution, focusing on the engineering of the complex floating gantry suspended above the bar. Utilising advanced CAD/CAM technology, he modeled the entire structure before a single component was manufactured. The complexity of this fit-out demanded a level of detail that went down to the individual grub screws.
As seen in our process models, Mark engineered "invisible" solutions, creating complex internal slotting systems and hidden metal plates. This allowed the gantry to appear effortless while maintaining immense structural integrity. This digital twin meant every installation method was solved ahead of time, ensuring the intricate vertical slatting and suspended shelving fit perfectly on the first attempt.
