When your client is an electrical engineer on superyachts, you know the standard for fit and finish is going to be uncompromising. Our brief was to create a space that was dark, moody, and sophisticated—a masculine sanctuary that balanced strict minimalism with genuine depth. The goal was a design that felt "funky" yet refined, delivering high-end impact without the visual clutter.
The undisputed hero of this kitchen is the stone. We pushed our fabrication capabilities to the limit to let the material speak, creating a massive island with twin waterfall ends that anchor the room. The drama continues on the rear wall with a book-matched splashback, where the gold and amber veins flow seamlessly across the surface like living art. Against the dark grey, matte cabinetry, the stone creates a striking contrast that is both bold and warm.
Executing a project of this complexity with a client based predominantly overseas required a seamless level of trust and communication. We managed the entire process remotely, ensuring that the transition from concept to installation was flawless. We extended this design language beyond the kitchen, crafting custom bathroom vanities that carry the dark, textural theme throughout the home, proving that consistency is key to luxury.
Ultimately, this project is a masterclass in texture. By pairing the cool, smooth touch of the stone with the warmth of timber accents and soft LED under-lighting, we achieved a "moody" atmosphere that never feels cold. It is a kitchen designed for a client who understands precision engineering—clean lines, high-impact materials, and a finish that stands up to close inspection.
